Natural Habitat
Found in cracks and crevices in residential and commercial buildings, especially in or near human sleeping areas like mattresses and bed frames.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate blood-feeders, primarily consuming human blood but sometimes feeding on other warm-blooded animals.
Behavior Patterns
Mainly nocturnal; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy bites, allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, and psychological stress. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans.
