Dotted Paropsine Leaf Beetle (Eucalyptus Leaf Beetle)

Eucalyptus woodlands, forests, parks, and gardens where Eucalyptus trees are present.

Herbivorous; both adults and larvae feed extensively on the foliage of Eucalyptus species.

Adults are active during warmer months, often resting on leaves or smooth surfaces like glass. When threatened, they tuck their legs and antennae close to their hemispherical bodies to mimic seeds or drop to the ground. Females lay batches of eggs on young Eucalyptus shoots.

Pose no risk to humans or pets as they do not bite or sting. However, high populations can cause significant defoliation of host Eucalyptus trees, making them a minor pest in forestry and ornamental gardens.
