Omnivorous scavenger; eats food scraps, grease, starch, glue, and toothpaste

Nocturnal and highly reproductive; females carry egg cases (oothecae) until just before hatching; they prefer dark, secluded cracks and crevices

Potential risk to humans as they can spread pathogens, contaminate food, and trigger asthma or allergies with their droppings and shed skins
