Bed Bug (crushed specimen)

Human dwellings, specifically cracks and crevices in mattresses, headboards, and upholstered furniture

Obligate hematophagy (feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals)

Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).

Risks include itchy bites, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. While they do not transmit diseases, they are considered a major urban pest and difficult to eradicate. No known benefits.
