Natural Habitat

Typically found indoors in dry, dusty areas like basements, attics, and under furniture; also found outdoors in hollow trees or woodpiles.

Diet & Feeding

Predatory insect-eater; feeds on small arthropods like bed bugs, flies, carpet beetles, and termites using piercing-sucking mouthparts.

Behavior Patterns

Nymphs use sticky secretions to camouflage themselves with dust, sand, or lint (debris-carrying). They are nocturnal hunters that move slowly and use stealth to ambush prey.

Risks & Benefits

Benefits: Useful biological control for indoor pests like bed bugs. Risks: While not aggressive and they do not feed on blood, they can deliver a very painful bite if handled or provoked; they do not transmit diseases.
