Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding

Behavior Patterns

The larva constructs a protective silk case covered in sand, dust, and lint. It can extend its head from either end of the case to move or feed. Upon maturity, it attaches the case to a surface to pupate.

Risks & Benefits

They are generally harmless to humans but can be a minor nuisance pest. In large numbers, they may damage clothing or textiles made of natural fibers like wool or silk.
