The larva constructs a spindle-shaped silk case covered in sand, dust, and fibers. It remains inside the case, extending its head to move or feed, and eventually pupates inside it.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless to humans but can be a minor pest of fabrics and clothing made of natural fibers. They do not bite or spread disease.
