Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and reclusive. Nymphs require a blood meal to progress through each of their five molting stages. They are attracted to heat and carbon dioxide emitted by hosts.

Risks & Benefits

Risks include itchy allergic reactions, skin rashes, and psychological distress/insomnia. While they do not transmit diseases, they are considered significant household pests. No known ecosystem benefits in indoor settings.
