Size: Adults are approximately 4 to 5 mm (about the size of an apple seed).

Natural Habitat
Found worldwide in human dwellings, typically in cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and baseboards.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on animal blood, primarily humans, but also other warm-blooded animals.
Behavior Patterns
They are predominantly nocturnal and elusive, hiding during the day and emerging at night to feed. They go through a life cycle of egg, five nymphal stages, and adult, requiring a blood meal to molt.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy allergic reactions, skin rashes, and psychological distress from infestations. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans. There are no known benefits to the ecosystem or humans.
