Deciduous forests, often found on or around dead trees and logs containing fungi.

Diet & Feeding

Primarily feeds on bracket fungi and woody fungi found on rotting logs.

Behavior Patterns

Active during the spring and summer; they are known for their marble-like camouflage patterns which help them blend into tree bark and fungi. Adults are often found near their larval host fungus.

Risks & Benefits

Harmless to humans; they provide an ecological benefit by assisting in the decomposition of dead wood and fungi, recycling nutrients back into the soil.
