Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Adults feed on flower nectar. Larvae are carnivorous and feed on spiders that the mother paralyzes and seals into the mud nest cells.
Behavior Patterns
Solitary wasps that construct organ-pipe-shaped nests from mud. They capture and paralyze spiders to stock their nests, ensuring a fresh food supply for their larvae. They are non-aggressive and do not defend their nests.
Risks & Benefits
Benefits the ecosystem by controlling spider populations. They pose very little risk to humans as they are docile and rarely sting unless handled roughly. Unlike social wasps, they do not swarm.
