Slug

Mostly herbivorous, eating leaves, organic debris, fungi, and sometimes other mollusks.

Nocturnal and moisture-dependent; they produce a slime trail to aid movement and prevent desiccation.

Benefits the ecosystem by decomposing organic matter; can be a garden pest. Some species carry parasites like lungworm if ingested by pets or humans.
