Masked Hunter Nymph

Natural Habitat

Typically found indoors in dry, dusty areas like basements, attics, and corners; also found outdoors in trees and shrubs.

Diet & Feeding

Carnivorous and predatory; hunts other small arthropods like bed bugs, flies, termites, lacewings, earwigs, and woodlice.

Behavior Patterns

As a nymph, it covers its sticky body with dust, lint, and debris to camouflage itself from predators and prey. They are nocturnal hunters and move with slow, stop-and-go motions.

Risks & Benefits

They are beneficial predators that control pest populations (including bed bugs). However, they can deliver a very painful bite to humans if handled or threatened, which may cause significant swelling.
