Females carry the ootheca for several weeks until just before the eggs are ready to hatch. Each case can contain 30-40 nymphs. They are nocturnal and fast-reproducing.

A major indoor pest that contaminates food, surfaces, and air with allergens, feces, and pathogens. They can trigger asthma and spread bacteria such as Salmonella.
