Bed Bug

Human dwellings, specifically cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattress seams, bed frames, and headboards.

Obligate hematophage; feeds exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).

Risks include itchy skin welts, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. They are not known to transmit diseases but are a significant pest. No known ecosystem benefits in human environments.
