Casemaking clothes moth (larva)

Dark, undisturbed indoor locations such as closets, drawers, and attics

Animal-based fibers including wool, silk, fur, feathers, and felt

The larva constructs a portable silken case incorporating fibers from its food source and drags it along while feeding. They prefer darkness and will retreat if exposed to light.

A significant household pest that causes physical damage to clothing, upholstery, and carpets. They do not pose health risks to humans but are economically damaging.
