Bed Bug (Crushed)

Human dwellings, specifically in mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, and cracks or crevices near sleeping areas

Obligate hematophage; feeds exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans, typically at night

Nocturnal and secretive; hides in dark, narrow harborages during the day and emerges at night attracted by body heat and carbon dioxide. When crushed after a blood meal, they leave characteristic reddish-brown blood smears.

Risks include itchy bites, potential allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, sleep deprivation, and psychological distress. They are not known to transmit disease pathogens efficiently. Benefits: None.
