Natural Habitat
Damp, dark areas such as sewers, basements, kitchens, and bathrooms. Found globally in close proximity to human structures.
Diet & Feeding
Opportunistic omnivores (scavengers) eating decaying organic matter, human food scraps, paper, and glue.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and highly resilient. They exhibit thigmotaxis, preferring contact with solid surfaces. The abdomen contains the reproductive organs and cerci (sensory organs visible at the tip).

Risks include the spread of pathogens (Salmonella, E. coli), contamination of food, and triggering of allergies or asthma. Benefits are minimal but include the decomposition of organic matter in the wild.
