Bed Bug (Nymph)

Size: 1-5 mm (nymphs are smaller, adult bed bugs are typically 4-5mm)

Natural Habitat
Dwellings, especially in cracks and crevices of mattresses, bed frames, furniture, and walls
Diet & Feeding
Blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal, feeds when hosts are asleep, hides in secluded areas during the day. Nymphs pass through 5 instars, each requiring a blood meal to molt.
Risks & Benefits
Potential risks include itchy bites, allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, and psychological distress. While not known to transmit diseases, they are a significant pest. No known benefits to humans or ecosystems.
