Casemaking Clothes Moth (larva)

Commonly found inside residential homes, specifically in closets, basements, or areas with low human traffic and stored organic materials.

Keratin-based materials including wool, silk, fur, feathers, hair, and sometimes carpets or leather.

The larva constructs a protective silken case incorporating fibers from the material it is feeding on, which it carries while moving; they undergo complete metamorphosis within this case.

A significant domestic pest that causes permanent damage to clothing, upholstery, and heirloom textiles; they possess no health risks to humans but offer no ecological benefits in a home environment.
