Diet & Feeding
Larvae feed on keratins found in natural fibers like wool, silk, hair, feathers, and fur. They also consume dust and lint.
Behavior Patterns
The larva spins a silken case covered with fibers of its food source for camouflage. It remains inside this case as it feeds and crawls. They prefer dark, undisturbed areas and avoid light.

Risks: Destructive household pest that causes physical damage to clothing, upholstery, and rugs. Benefits: In the wild, they act as decomposers of animal remains (fur/feathers).
