Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding

Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, silk, hair, and organic detritus.

Behavior Patterns

The larva builds a flattened, spindle-shaped case from silk and environmental debris (sand, lint). It can move and feed from both ends of the case before pupating inside.

Risks & Benefits

Considered a household pest; can damage clothing and natural fabric textiles. Harmless to humans and pets, but an indicator of indoor humidity.
