They are photophobic (avoid light) and thrive in high humidity (above 60%). They do not drink water but absorb moisture from the air. Their life cycle from egg to adult takes about one month.
Risks & Benefits
They do not bite or sting but are a major source of allergens. Enzymes in their waste (feces) and decaying body parts can trigger asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), and eczema in sensitive individuals.
