Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding

Behavior Patterns
They are nocturnal and strongly attracted to artificial light sources. They are clumsy flyers and have a 1-3 year life cycle spent mostly as subterranean larvae.
Risks & Benefits
They pose no direct risk to humans as they do not bite or sting. However, the larvae can be significant pests to lawns and crops, while the adults provide a food source for birds, skunks, and other wildlife.
