Behavior Patterns
Accumulates over time as debris (bacteria, dead cells, mucus, food particles) gets trapped in tonsil pockets and calcifies. Often dislodges spontaneously during coughing or swallowing.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless but can cause significant bad breath (halitosis), throat discomfort, or the sensation of something stuck in the throat. Large stones may require removal.
