Diet & Feeding

Feeds on the Developing seeds and flowers of various coniferous trees (such as pine, Douglas-fir, and hemlock) using piercing-sucking mouthparts.

Nymphs and adults are active during the warmer months on host trees. In late summer and autumn, adults aggregate and seek overwintering sites. When disturbed, they can produce a pungent odor as a defense mechanism.
