Carpet Beetle Larva

Indoors within carpets, clothing, upholstered furniture, closets, baseboards, and stored natural fiber materials.

Feeds on natural organic animal products including wool, silk, feathers, fur, hair, skin flakes, and dead insects.

Slow-moving, covered in tiny bristly hairs (hastisetae). Larvae avoid light and seek dark, undisturbed crevices where natural materials accumulate.

Non-venomous and do not bite or transmit diseases. However, their shed hairs can cause allergic skin reactions (carpet beetle dermatitis), and they can damage household fabrics, textiles, and dried food goods.
