Plant sap; feeds specifically on the phloem of citrus trees and other plants in the Rutaceae family.

Forms large colonies; undergoes both winged (alate) and wingless (apterous) stages; reproduces rapidly through parthenogenesis (cloning) under favorable conditions.

Major agricultural pest; poses a significant risk to citrus crops as a primary vector for the Citrus Tristeza Virus (CTV), which can kill trees.
