Common Bed Bug

Primarily bedrooms and sleeping areas in homes, hotels, and shelters; hidden in mattress seams, bed frames, and cracks.

Obligate hematophages; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Nocturnal insects that emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (nymphs to adults) and can survive months without feeding.

Risks include itchy welts, allergic reactions, and psychological distress/insomnia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but are significant domestic pests.
