Keratin-based animal fibers including wool, silk, fur, feathers, and leather, as well as lint and stored grains.

Behavior Patterns

The larva constructs a portable silken case incorporating debris from its food source. It carries this protective case while feeding and eventually pupates inside it.

Risks & Benefits

A significant textile pest that can cause extensive damage to clothing, upholstery, and carpets. They do not bite humans or pets but are economically destructive.
