They are active during the day. Females lay eggs on Eucalyptus leaves or stems. Larvae feed communally and drop to the ground to pupate in the soil.
Risks & Benefits
Generally harmless to humans. However, large populations can cause significant defoliation of Eucalyptus trees, which can stress the plants and impact forest health.
