Natural Habitat

Damp, dark, and cool environments such as basements, bathrooms, kitchens, and attics; often found in crevices or under wallpaper.

Diet & Feeding

Polyphagous scavengers that consume carbohydrates and starches. They eat paper, book bindings, wallpaper paste, glue, household dust, and cereals.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and highly agile; they exhibit a fish-like wiggling motion when moving. They have a long lifespan (up to 8 years) and undergo ametabolous metamorphosis.
