Household Casebearer (Case-bearing Clothes Moth larva)

Indoor environments, particularly inside homes, closets, walls, and under furniture in warm or humid climates

Feeds on natural fibers, spider webs, wool, feathers, human hair, shed skin cells, and dried insect debris

Larvae construct a flat, spindle-shaped portable case made of silk, sand, dust, and fiber fragments. The larva extends its head out from either open end of the case to crawl along walls or floors and pulls itself back inside when threatened.

Non-venomous and harmless to humans and pets, but can cause mild damage to household woolens, silk, or stored natural fiber fabrics if present in high numbers.
