Human dwellings, specifically in tight crevices near sleeping areas such as mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, and baseboards.

Diet & Feeding

Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Behavior Patterns

They are primarily nocturnal, emerging at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult). They are known for 'hitchhiking' on luggage, clothing, or used furniture to infest new locations.

Risks & Benefits

Risks include itchy, red welts from bites, allergic reactions, and significant psychological distress or insomnia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans. There are no ecological benefits to their presence in human environments.
