Silverfish

Moist, humid, and dark indoor areas such as bathrooms, basements, kitchens, and attics.

Opportunistic feeders consuming starches and polysaccharides. Common food sources include book bindings, paper, photos, sugar, hair, dandruff, and organic debris.

Nocturnal and highly secretive. They are known for their fast, fish-like movements and the ability to live for months without food. They undergo ametabolous development (hatching as miniature adults).

They are considered nuisance pests that can damage paper products, wallpaper, and clothing. They do not bite or transmit diseases to humans but may trigger allergies in sensitive individuals.
