Case-bearing Clothes Moth (Larva)

Indoor environments, specifically in closets, rugs, and storage areas containing animal-based fibers.

Keratin-rich materials including wool, silk, feathers, fur, and occasionally leather.

The larva constructs a portable silken case camouflaged with fragments of the material it is feeding on. It stays inside this case, dragging it along as it moves and feeds.

Risks include significant damage to clothing, upholstery, and expensive textiles. They provide no direct benefit to humans and are considered a common household pest.
