Natural Habitat

Indoor environments, specifically in proximity to sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and furniture crevices.

Diet & Feeding

Obligatory hematophages; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and elusive. They emerge from hiding at night to feed, attracted by host CO2 and body heat. After feeding, they retreat to dark crevices to digest and molt.

Risks & Benefits

Risks include itchy welts, skin rashes, allergic reactions, and psychological distress/insomnia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but are high-nuisance urban pests.
