The upper layer (epidermis) of human skin.
Diet & Feeding
Skin cells (keratin) and extracellular fluid.
Behavior Patterns
Females burrow into the stratum corneum of the skin to lay eggs; they are obligate parasites that cannot survive off a host for more than 2-3 days.
Risks & Benefits
Causes Scabies, characterized by intense itching and rashes; can lead to secondary skin infections like impetigo if left untreated.
