Natural Habitat

Herbivorous. Feeds on the sap of lantana leaves, causing yellow stippling and eventual leaf drop.

Behavior Patterns

Groups on the undersides of leaves where they feed and lay eggs. They go through five nymphal stages before reaching adulthood, often with multiple generations per year.

Risks & Benefits

Generally considered a beneficial biological control agent used to suppress the spread of invasive Lantana camara. They pose no risk to humans or pets.
