Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive, they emerge at night to feed and hide in dark, tight spaces during the day. Their life cycle includes five nymphal stages, each requiring a blood meal to molt.
Risks & Benefits
They are a significant indoor pest that causes itchy, red welts from bites. While they are not known to transmit diseases to humans, infestations can lead to significant psychological distress, insomnia, and secondary skin infections from scratching.
