Millipede

Moist outdoor environments such as soil, leaf litter, decaying wood, mulch, and under rocks. They occasionally wander indoors seeking moisture.

Detritivores; they primarily feed on decaying plant material, organic debris, and fungi.

Nocutrnal and slow-moving. When threatened or dead, they curl into a tight spiral coil, as seen in the image. They require damp surroundings to avoid dehydration.

Harmless to humans, pets, and household structures; they do not bite or sting. Beneficial to the ecosystem as decomposers that recycle nutrients into the soil.
