Carpet beetle larva

Found indoors in dark, undisturbed areas such as closets, baseboards, under carpets, and inside ventilation ducts.

Keratin and natural fibers including wool, silk, leather, feathers, hair, and sometimes stored grains.

They prefer dark environments and avoid light. The larvae crawl actively to find food and shed their skins multiple times before pupating into adult beetles.

Risks include damaging fabrics, clothing, carpets, and stored animal products. They do not bite humans, but tiny hairs on the larvae can sometimes cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
