Springtail

Damp environments such as soil, leaf litter, decaying wood, compost, and often found around potted plants or damp surfaces indoors.

Fingal hyphae, spores, decaying organic matter, pollen, and bacteria.

They are wingless hexapods that get their name from a forked appendage under the abdomen (furcula) used to spring or jump into the air when disturbed. They thrive in high humidity and moisture.

Springtails are generally harmless to humans, do not bite or transmit disease, and do not damage living plants. They act as beneficial decomposers in soil ecosystems, though large numbers can sometimes be a nuisance when they appear inside homes near moisture.
