Behavior Patterns
Adults are attracted to light and often found near windows. The larvae prefer dark, undisturbed areas like closets, attics, and under furniture.
Risks & Benefits
Considered a household pest because larvae damage clothing, carpets, and stored fabrics. They can cause skin irritation ('carpet beetle dermatitis') in some people. Generally do not bite or sting.
