Green Lacewing Larva (Junk Bug)

Gardens, agricultural fields, and wooded areas with dense vegetation.

Voracious predator of aphids, mites, scale insects, and other small, soft-bodied arthropods.

Often carries a 'trash' packet on its back made of silk, debris, and the husks of its prey for camouflage and defense. They are highly active hunters.

Highly beneficial as biological pest control; they significantly reduce aphid populations. Occasionally, they may give a harmless but startling pinch to human skin if handled.
