Natural Habitat

Damp environments, including wet soil in forests, bogs, and especially indoor potted plants with overwatered soil.

Diet & Feeding

Larvae primarily eat fungi, organic mulch, and decaying plant matter; some may feed on plant roots. Adults generally do not feed or only consume liquids.

Behavior Patterns

Weak fliers that are often seen running across soil surfaces or resting near windows. They are attracted to light and moist conditions for egg-laying.
