Nocturnal parasites that hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis with five nymphal stages.
Risks & Benefits
Significant nuisance pest. Causes itchy welts and psychological distress. While not known to transmit diseases, heavy infestations can cause anemia.
