Behavior Patterns

Adults can live for up to three years; they are highly active, do not fly, and use their flattened bodies to squeeze into thin crevices of food packaging to lay eggs.

Risks & Benefits

They are major household and commercial pests that cause significant food waste through contamination; however, they do not bite, sting, or spread human diseases.
