Size: 1.5 mm to 4.5 mm (nymphs are smaller and translucent/yellowish compared to adults).

Natural Habitat
Found in human dwellings, typically hidden in mattress seams, bed frames, electrical outlets, and crevices near sleeping areas.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive; they emerge at night to feed. Nymphs require a blood meal to progress through each of their five developmental molts.
Risks & Benefits
While not known to transmit diseases, they cause itchy welts, allergic reactions, and significant psychological distress. They provide no known ecological benefits to human environments.
