Casemaking Clothes Moth (larval case)

Indoor environments, particularly dark areas like closets, drawers, and under furniture where natural fibers are stored.

Keratin-rich materials including wool, silk, hair, feathers, leather, and fur; larvae also occasionally consume dried spices or tobacco.

Larvae construct and live inside a portable silken case incorporating fibers from the material they are eating; they carry this case with them as they feed and eventually pupate inside it.

Risks include significant damage to clothing, upholstery, and carpets made of natural fibers; they offer no direct benefits to humans and are considered a common household pest.
